The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has launched the “PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM-YASASVI)” for OBC and other eligible groups. Under this initiative, the ‘Top Class School Education’ scheme provides scholarships of up to ₹75,000 per annum for students in classes 9–10, and up to ₹1,25,000 per annum for students in classes 11–12. Furthermore, the ‘Top Class College Education’ scheme offers support for expenses such as computer fees, living costs, books, stationery, and the purchase of a laptop, ensuring that students can continue their education without facing financial hardship.
It should be noted that the PM-YASASVI scheme is an umbrella program encompassing five sub-schemes, including the ‘Top Class School Education’ and ‘Top Class College Education’ schemes. Selection Process Of PM Yashasvi Scholarship Yojana 2026

- Selection for this scholarship is based entirely on merit. There is no separate examination for it.
- For Class 9 and 10 scholarships: Students are selected based on the merit of the marks obtained in their Class 8 final examinations.
- For Class 11 and 12 scholarships: Students are selected based on the merit of the marks obtained in their Class 10 board examinations.
- Separate state-wise merit lists are prepared for boys and girls for each state.
- At least 30% of the scholarships are reserved for girls.
- Scholarships are allocated automatically through an online portal, based on merit.
- Once awarded, the scholarship is automatically renewed upon promotion to the next grade, provided that the student’s attendance and academic performance remain satisfactory.

Candidates who wish to apply for the PM Yashasvi Scholarship Yojana 2026 can submit their applications by following the steps provided below.
Complete the OTR process through the official NSP website.
- First, visit the NSP (National Scholarship Portal) and complete the One-Time Registration (OTR).
- To complete the OTR, you will need to visit the designated website. On the home page, locate the “Get Your OTR” section and click on the “Apply” option.
- A new page will open where you must enter your Aadhaar number and complete the OTP verification process. You can generate your OTR by providing your mobile number and Aadhaar number. While a PC with a webcam can be used, the process can also be easily completed via a mobile phone.
- Carefully submit all the required information.
- Once submitted, you will receive your OTR number and login credentials; please keep these safe.

- Now, log in to the NSP portal using your OTR login ID and password.
- You can log in to the NSP portal using your OTR number or Aadhaar, as per the options provided on the portal.
