CTET September Form 2026 : If you aspire to become a teacher for Primary or Middle (Upper Primary) classes—specifically Grades 1 to 5 or 6 to 8—the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) invites online applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 on its official website. The 22nd edition of the CTET examination is scheduled to be held on September 6, 2026 (Sunday), across 132 cities nationwide. All eligible candidates may apply online for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 between May 11, 2026, and June 10, 2026, via the official CTET website, ctet.nic.in. Note:- The full form of CTET is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a national-level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This examination is intended for candidates who aspire to become teachers at the primary level (Grades 1 to 5) and the upper primary level—also referred to as the middle level—(Grades 6 to 8). Passing the CTET is a mandatory requirement for securing a teaching position in schools.
Two Levels (Papers) of the CTET Examination
The CTET examination is primarily divided into two parts. Candidates may opt to appear for either one or both papers, depending on their eligibility.

Paper I – This examination is for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Grades 1 to 5 (Primary Level).
Paper II – This examination is for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Grades 6 to 8 (Upper Primary/Junior Level).

CTET September Form 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification

  • Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Class 12 and completed a 2-year D.El.Ed course.
  • Alternatively, candidates must have secured 45% marks in Class 12 and completed a 2-year D.El.Ed course (in accordance with NCTE norms).
  • Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Class 12 and completed a 4-year B.El.Ed course.
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have completed a 2-year D.El.Ed course.
  • Additionally, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have completed a B.Ed course (valid in certain circumstances).
Paper 2 (Class 6 to 8) Upper Primary Teacher
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree along with a 2-year D.El.Ed.
  • Alternatively, candidates must have secured 50% marks in their Bachelor’s degree and completed a 1-year B.Ed.
  • Candidates must have secured 45% marks in their Bachelor’s degree and completed a 1-year B.Ed (in accordance with NCTE norms).
  • Candidates must have secured 50% marks in Class 12 and completed a 4-year B.El.Ed / B.A.+B.Ed / B.Sc.+B.Ed.
  • Furthermore, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree along with a B.Ed (Special Education).
 

CTET September Form 2026 Exam Pattern

Note:- All questions in the CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), comprising four options, out of which one will be the most appropriate answer. Each question will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marking.

Paper I – is intended for those who wish to become teachers for Classes I to V.

Paper II – is intended for those who wish to become teachers for Classes VI to VIII.

  • Candidates who wish to become teachers for both levels (Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII) must appear for both papers (Paper I and Paper II).
