We would like to inform all candidates that the selection process for the RRB Technician Vacancy 2026 will be conducted in the following stages.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Document Verification (DV)

RRB Technician Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Paper – This single-paper online test consists of 100 objective-type questions.
- Time Limit – Candidates are allotted exactly 90 minutes to complete the paper.
- Negative Marking – There is a strict penalty of \(\frac{1}{3}\) of a mark deducted for every incorrect answer. No penalty is applied to unattempted questions.
- Syllabus Focus – Topics vary according to the grade level.
- For instance, the Technician Grade – III test places greater emphasis on Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. The Technician Grade-I (Signal) test includes concepts from Basic Science and Engineering, alongside General Aptitude.
RRB Technician Document Verification (DV)
Note:- We would like to inform all candidates about how their Document Verification (DV) will be conducted.
- Candidates are required to submit their original documents along with their self-attested photocopies.
- Other key documents subject to verification include Matriculation/Class 10 certificates, ITI certificates/Act Apprenticeship completion certificates (for Grade-III), or Diploma/B.Sc./B.Tech degrees (for Grade-I Signal).
- Furthermore, community/caste certificates and valid government-issued identity cards (such as the Aadhaar card) are also subjected to rigorous scrutiny.
RRB Technician Medical Examination (DME)
- Candidates are referred to hospitals designated by the Railways to undergo an examination of their visual acuity and general physical fitness.
- Furthermore, based on the technical classification of the post, it is mandatory for candidates to fulfill the criteria of specific medical categories, such as A3, B1, B2, or C1.
- In the event of severe color blindness or a failure to meet the prescribed standards regarding distant vision, candidates will be declared ineligible for safety-related positions.
