• Scrutiny is a process in which an examination answer sheet is re-examined. This facility is offered to students who feel that the marks they received do not reflect their hard work, or that an error occurred during the evaluation of their answer sheet.
• Furthermore, this process also involves a re-verification of the totaling of marks.
• It verifies whether the marks awarded for a specific answer are correct and ensures that no valid marks have been inadvertently omitted. It is important to note that scrutiny involves only a re-examination of the existing answer sheet; students are not required to rewrite the paper.
• Consequently, a student’s marks may increase through this process. However, if no errors are detected, the marks remain unchanged. Ultimately, the result declared following the scrutiny process is considered final, and no further modifications are made to it thereafter.
